Back Analogue chip manufacturer requires on-time delivery of its products

Challenge

The client needed to get critical shipments delivered to specific locations within a high-tech campus to meet production deadlines. Due to lack of a central receiving and distribution center within the campus, the packages would sit on the dock for hours or days, and not get delivered to needed locations on time. If shipments were delivered on a Saturday, the "down machine" parts would sit until Monday, holding up production and their service commitments. 

Solution

Quick designed a system to deliver parts to the final destinations within the campus, abiding by the client’s set security procedures. Since the campus was a secure facility, and under strict security measures, special arrangements had to be made for delivery throughout the campus by a vendor. In order to provide clearance for Quick's pick-up and delivery drivers, Quick asked that their drivers have background checks conducted by the client, in addition to attending their safety school. Once drivers passed, they were issued Vendor ID passes, which allowed them access to the secured buildings.

To save additional time, the client was able to provide detailed delivery instructions, to include desk coordinates or a specific location. In certain locations Quick would have access to lockboxes with log sheets to ensure chain of custody. In other locations, Quick’s drivers would actually deliver to a cleanroom with a pass through window. This eliminated the need for the cleanroom technician to change out of his smock, put on "street shoes", go to the lobby to sign for the package, and then repeat the process in reverse, saving their technicians valuable time. The technician never had to stop working, resulting in increased production time, more products being manufactured, and increased profits.
